What Undersoul Is

  • A private journal with structured shadow work prompts.
  • A self-discovery assessment that reflects your own answers back to you.
  • An AI assistant that generates reflections to help you think more deeply.
  • A tool to support — not replace — your own healing process.

What Undersoul Is Not

  • Not therapy. We are not licensed mental health professionals. Undersoul is not a therapist, counselor, psychologist, or psychiatrist.
  • Not a diagnosis. Undersoul does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical, psychological, or psychiatric condition.
  • Not medical advice. Nothing the AI says is professional advice. AI reflections are prompts for your own thinking — not clinical guidance.
  • Not crisis support. Undersoul cannot help in an emergency. If you are in crisis, please use the resources below.
  • Not a substitute for therapy. If you are working through trauma, please do so with a licensed therapist alongside this app.

Recommended Use

Undersoul works best as a companion to therapy with a licensed provider. Use it to:

  • Reflect between sessions.
  • Prepare material to bring to your therapist (the Therapist Summary export is built for exactly this).
  • Notice patterns over time.
  • Build a regular practice of inner work in a safe, private space.

If you don't currently have a therapist and would like one, services like Psychology Today and Open Path Collective can help you find one (including affordable options).

AI Has Limitations

Undersoul uses an AI model (Anthropic Claude) to generate reflections. AI is a powerful tool, but it has real limitations:

  • It can be wrong, biased, or miss important context.
  • It cannot see you, hear your tone, or know your full history.
  • It cannot tell when you are in danger.
  • It is generating language — not understanding you the way a person can.

Trust your therapist, not the AI.Trust your own knowing. If the AI says something that doesn't feel right, it isn't right for you. You always have the final word on your own healing.

Assumption of Risk

Inner work can stir up difficult emotions, memories, or thoughts. By using Undersoul, you accept that this is a known part of self-reflection and that you are responsible for deciding when to pause, when to seek support, and how to care for yourself. We've built grounding tools and the crisis resources above for exactly this reason — please use them whenever you need to.

No Liability for Decisions Based on App Content

Undersoul, its operators, and its affiliates are not liable for any decisions you make, or actions you take, based on content generated or displayed in the app — including AI reflections, assessment results, healing plans, or prompts. Always consult a qualified professional for medical, psychological, legal, or financial decisions.
